Our customers can monitor our inventory in real time — directly within their own systems. What may sound futuristic has long been standard practice at the Welte Group. As a full-range supplier for driveshafts, we consistently focus on digitalization and transparent processes, creating tangible added value for our customers.

The Welte Group, a full-service supplier for driveshafts, has fully embraced digital and transparent workflows. For our trading partners, this means live access to inventory data directly through their own systems. And if a required part is not currently in stock, we can deliver it overnight via express shipping.

Although a driveshaft may appear to be a relatively straightforward component at first glance, the technical details involve considerable complexity. Tube lengths, diameters, universal joints, splines, and center bearings are combined by OE manufacturers in an almost endless variety of configurations. Maintaining a clear overview of these combinations is a top priority for us as an aftermarket specialist. Only through the precise assignment of components to specific applications can we reliably supply our customers with complete driveshafts, center bearings, and EDS / EDS PLUS brand components exactly when and where they are needed.

Since 2024, we have been working with TecDoc, the leading IAM database for parts identification. “We invested a tremendous amount of effort into complete digitalization, but the investment is clearly paying off,” explains Ulf Kück, Managing Director of Welte Cardan-Service GmbH. “A major growth driver and an essential tool for precise planning is the integration of our trading partners through the TecCom interface. We are the largest TecDoc data supplier in the driveshaft sector and for several related components, and we have mapped almost our entire EDS – ALL DRIVESHAFT portfolio within the system. We see digitalization as the strongest lever in the driveshaft business.”

Customized Labeling and Packaging

The Welte Group also places strong emphasis on customer-focused solutions surrounding the product itself. “Packaging requirements alone can vary enormously — whether for OE specifications, export regulations, or compatibility with a customer’s own packaging management system. We adapt completely to our customers’ needs and can implement virtually any requested solution,” says Kück. “Even if these details are not immediately visible, they are essential for smooth day-to-day operations.”

The same applies to customer-specific labeling of driveshafts and components. A reliable identification system is the foundation for seamless digitalization across the entire process chain.

Strong Logistics Performance

To ensure that parts move from the high-bay warehouse to the customer and ultimately into the vehicle as quickly as possible, Welte Cardan-Service GmbH relies on a highly efficient logistics network. Around 26.7 percent of all manufactured driveshafts leave the company site within 24 hours of order receipt — including express shipments.

Alexander Welte explains: “At first glance, this figure may not seem particularly high, but our trading partners receive fast-moving products through scheduled deliveries on a regular basis. The orders referred to here are additional requests outside of these agreements. Our goal is to ensure that the required parts reach the distributor or workshop as quickly as possible in order to prevent vehicle downtime.”
